Mullaivasal G. Chandramouli started learning violin at the age of 8 under Smt. Savithri Sathyamurthy and came under the guidance of Late Brahmashri R. K. Venkatrama Sastry for 8 years. In his maiden performance, Mullaivasal G. Chandramouli accompanied his Guru, Late Brahmashri R. K. Venkatrama Sastry during the Gokulashtami Utsavam in1983 and has since participated in more than 1500 concerts.
He has accompanied great vidwans of caliber such as Late Sangeetha Kalanidhi T. M. Thyagarajan, Late Sangeetha Kalanidhi Palghat K. V. Narayanaswamy, Sangeetha Kalanidhi B. Rajam Iyer, Sangeetha Kalanidhi R. K. Srikantan, Sangeetha Kalanidhi T. K. Govinda Rao, Late Kalakkadu S. Ramanarayana Iyer and Late Tanjore S. Kalyanaraman. He regularly accompanies leading artists such as Thrisoor V. Ramachandran, T. V. Sankaranarayanan, O. S. Thyagarajan, K. J. Yesudas, Sanjay Subramaniam, P. Unnikrishnan, Bombay Sisters, Sudha Raghunathan, Bombay Jayashri, and Nityashree Mahadevan.
He is an A-grade artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan and regularly performs at local, zonal, and national levels. He performs violin solo concerts and also presents duet performances with R. K. Shriram Kumar. He has participated in music programs and festivals in all major cities in India. He has also been featured in commercial recordings with reputed companies like A.V.M. and Sangeetha.
He was one of the founder members of YACM and served on its executive committee from 1985 to 1986. He was the Classical Music Coordinator for IIT Chennai from 1985 to 1986 and was Joint Secretary for SPIC-MACAY, Chennai Chapter from1986 to 1987. He is currently receiving guidance from violin maestro Shri. V. V. Subrahmanyam.
