The word Lasya denotes joyous artistic expression and is a dance filled with beauty, grace and elegance. Mythologically, the dance is a response to Shiva’s Thandavam by the Goddess Parvathi – a force bringing about equilibrium to the nature of the worlds.
As one of the more recent initiatives by the Ramaniyam Group, Lasya is dedicated to promoting art and culture in South Chennai. Its main aim and purpose is to help strike a balance between the traditional and contemporary by promoting a wide range of events from Carnatic concerts to theatre performances. Also, by playing host to some of the biggest names in the artistic circles of both the city and the country, Lasya is establishing itself as an up and coming cultural hub in the Old Mahabalipuram Road corridor.
For the last 31 years, the Ramaniyam Group has been amongst the most admired and respected organisations within Chennai. Its flagship company, Ramaniyam Real Estates was established in the year 1986 and has grown to become one of the leading developers in the city. By providing customised living, high structural quality, a healthy lifestyle and spaces for community activity, Ramaniyam Real Estates has managed to promote themselves as an organisation that bridges the gap between want and need.
In recent years, the Ramaniyam Group has diversified into various other sectors including the education and the hospitality sector. Through the APL Global school, the Group manages to marry its defining ethos with education. A joint venture with Absolute Speciality has also helped the group pave a path into the hospitality space with three new projects – the Velveteen Rabbit, the Grey Suit and Ciclo Café.
The newest projects in the Ramaniyam pipeline includes a sports academy and Lasya – a new entrant that takes Ramaniyam closer to their clientele through culture and arts.
APL Global School is an initiative by the Ramaniyam Group, designed to work towards an effective education model. The school follows in the footsteps of the Group’s principles by providing customised learning structures to help ensure each child’s individual needs are met and fulfilled. Accredited with the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), a diverse array of subjects at different levels have been introduced into the school’s curriculum to match the school’s vision and pedagogy. By providing a personalised, effective and well-rounded education, the goal of APL is to ensure that each child blossoms and grows to achieve their ambitions and dreams.
